James R. Corbett, Attorney at Law
Background
Mr. Corbett was born in Durham, North Carolina in 1940. He graduated from Warwick High School in Newport News, Virginia in 1959 and also entered the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve while still in high school. He worked in the Newport News Shipyard and decided to attend college. He graduated from East Carolina College with a degree in Science, with an emphasis in biology. He worked for five years as an insurance adjuster and then attended the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, finishing in 1971.
Mr. Corbett was in private law practice until September 1990 and then was an underwriting attorney for Chicago Title Insurance Company for ten and a half years. Since January 2001, he has been back in private practice with D. Wayne Moore.
